Impressions from the Bhoomi event

This is my favourite picture from Lodhi Gardens in Delhi

The Bhoomi event on October 1st just blew my mind. I really hadn't been having an idea what I'd been helping to organise all these weeks! Apart from what can be seen in the pictures the movie "Harmony" by Prince Charles was screened of which I hadn't known before and which quite touched me (teaser see here). I was also extremely impressed by the guests and their speeches.

Stage decoration in honour of Rabindranath Tagore

Opening with traditional dances by school children

Sangeet (singing with instrumental accompaniment) by a school choir

Welcome Address by Vandana Shiva

Amazing puppet montage with the title "The Robbery of the Soil"
The puppet in the middle representing the Earth was moved very precisely by the disguised persons

Shadow theatre element in the play illustrating industrialisation

Vandana Shiva and Alan Imai from Shumei International, an amazing Japanese organisation which combines spirituality with Natural Farming

Debbie Barker (international director for the Center for Food Safety in Washington) joined the panel after coming directly from the airport, impresseing me with her energy

Indian Artist Shakti Maira and Alice Cunningham (also from Shumei)

One of the most funniest and wittiest theatre plays I've ever seen - I even had to laugh about the jokes in Hindi because the amusement of the audience was so contagious

Concert with tabla, tanpura and harmonium

Only one half of the huge dinner buffet

The proud kitchen team which had flown in from Japan with Shumei
